Dear Madam/Sir,

Pursuant to paragraph 2 of COP decision 15/17 ( https://www.cbd.int/doc/decisions/cop-15/cop-15-dec-17-en.pdf ), the purpose of this notification is to invite Parties, other Governments, international organizations and relevant stakeholders to submit their views on the draft Long-Term Strategic Approach to Mainstreaming Biodiversity ( https://www.cbd.int/doc/recommendations/sbi-03/sbi-03-rec-15-en.pdf ) and the associated Action Plan ( https://www.cbd.int/doc/c/4213/836b/844931a2cb742e6803806443/sbi-03-13-add1-en.pdf ), and to identify ways forward to support implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework ( https://www.cbd.int/doc/decisions/cop-15/cop-15-dec-04-en.pdf ).

Please note that earlier submissions on the Long-term Strategic Approach and the Action Plan are already captured in documents CBD/COP/15/INF/10 ( https://www.cbd.int/doc/c/c7d4/7f58/c17e1e37c2324335ef9bab48/cop-15-inf-10-en.pdf ), CBD/COP/15/INF/11 ( https://www.cbd.int/doc/c/c1db/418e/9caf4112ced23ce822b8f683/cop-15-inf-11-en.pdf ) and CBD/COP/15/INF/12 ( https://www.cbd.int/doc/c/2206/0fc5/525d3c0842a7f8fdb3688f81/cop-15-inf-12-en.pdf ). With a view to avoid duplication of these earlier submissions, you may wish to focus your submission on ways forward to support implementation, including on an interim process, in line with paragraphs 2 and 3 of the aforementioned decision.

Pursuant to paragraph 3 of the same decision, the Secretariat will organize an open-ended online forum through the clearing-house mechanism in order to provide an opportunity to discuss these views, together with the earlier reports and outcomes as mentioned above. The views expressed in this discussion, including on an interim process, will be compiled in a report for consideration by the Subsidiary Body on Implementation. The online forum is tentatively scheduled to take place in the second quarter of 2023; further information will be provided in due course.
