The Advanced Informed Agreement procedure for direct introduction of LMOs into the environment is further elaborated in Articles 7 to 10 of the Protocol. Final decisions regarding the importation or release of LMOs are made available through the BCH in accordance with Article 20, paragraph 3 (d) of the Protocol.

The procedure for release of LMOs for use as food or feed, or for processing is further elaborated in Article 11 of the Biosafety Protocol. Final decisions regarding the importation or release of LMOs are made available through the BCH in accordance with Article 20, paragraph 3(d) of the Protocol.
